Apple TV Plus is a premium subscription service currently priced at $4.99 a month.
We can all agree that $5 isn’t a lot – especially when Netflix is edging nearer to $20 monthly.
However, if you’re like us, and have several streaming services, that extra $5 becomes a bigger consideration. Especially if you’re just looking to catch up on Ted Lasso or See.

Yet, the truth is, you don’t need to pay for an Apple TV Plus account.
And we’re going to show you a few ways to get it for free, long enough to catch up on any shows you might want to check out.
Check Out Apple TV Before Rushing Into Plus
Firstly, if you have access to the Apple store via an iPhone, iPad, Mac, or iTunes, you can already watch 180 free episodes from varying shows. This means you can check out the first few episodes of any show to see if getting Apple TV Plus for free is worthwhile to you.
All you need to get access to these 180 free episodes is an Apple account and a device that lets you access Apple TV Plus. Then, if you like what you see, the easiest step to get access to everything is:
1. Get A 7-Day Free Trial
If you want to watch just a single show and have time to binge-watch it on the go, then you could sign up for the Apple TV Plus free 7-day trial.
To subscribe to the Apple TV+ free trial click here. You will need to add a payment method and it is automatically set to auto-renew after the trial period ends. So, remember to cancel the subscription when you’re done, or you may get charged for a full-month subscription.
We don’t recommend this, but you can keep getting 7-day trials by creating new Apple accounts. However, it is a lot of effort compared to:
2. Get 3 Months Free With A New Apple Phone
We’re not suggesting you rush out and buy a new phone, instead, the next time your contract is ending, why not get a deal where Apple TV Plus is free?
We’ve seen deals on Apple phones that include anything from 3 months of Apple Unlimited (which includes Apple TV Plus) to 12 months free.
Apple is eager to get and keep people in its ecosystem, and if you are renewing or switching a cell contract, getting freebies like this bundled is easy. Just look at what your cell provider offers online or ask at the store. Best of all, this method will cost you nothing if you are already paying a modestly-priced cell contract.

3. 6-Months Free For Sony PlayStation 5 Or PlayStation 4 Owners
For many, a PlayStation 5 is out of reach, however, an aging PlayStation 4 might already be sitting underneath a TV, boxed away in storage, or stuffed under a bed (like mine).
Amazingly, for just having a PS4 (or PS5) that you connect to an Apple ID, you can get 6 months of Apple TV Plus for free!
To take advantage of this promotion, you must have an Apple ID and a PlayStation account. You can obtain the gift by launching the PlayStation App on your PS4 or PS5. You then must follow through with the on-screen instructions to get started.
This promotional offer ends July 22nd, 2022, and is available in 60 markets, including the U.S.

4. Free Apple TV Plus With Apple Music Subscription
Apple Music has different tiers of subscription that sporadically bundle Apple TV Plus or Arcade as part of an offer. Currently, the offer is 50% off Apple Music’s student tier, great if you are a student, bad if you are not:
However, Apple regularly changes these offers, and it is worth looking out for these deals if you already pay for Apple Music. Then, the next time the offer is available, unsubscribe and subscribe again for free Apple TV Plus.
It is easy to get Apple TV Plus for free, and most of the time it takes very little effort. We’ve had Apple TV Plus since launch and have only ever paid $10 total for it. If we can get it for free, everyone can.
