Dance Moms is a reality TV series that aired from 2011 to 2019 and was created by Collins Avenue Productions. The show follows the training and careers of children in dance and show business under the tutelage of Abby Lee Miller, as well as the relationships between Miller, the other dancers, and their mothers. 15. “Dance Moms Reunion: Hurricane Abby” Season 3, Episode 38
In the thirty-eight episodes of the third season, the cast gathers to discuss the triumphs and tragedies of season three. All while the dancers perform their favorite routines and Brooke performs her song “I Hurt”. Abby, obviously with some dramatics, announces that she will be hosting a nationwide audition for a new elite competition team. The mothers are annoyed, as you can see them shaking their heads and looking ready to fight. Even during the announcement, Abby can’t get enough of bringing down the dancers as well as the mothers, even talking to Jill about how she “screwed up big time”. The drama and tension truly course through this episode.

14. “The Return of Studio 19” Season 8, Episode 14
The fourteenth episode of the eighth season is no better, however, as more drama unfolds around Abby. Abby has always been nasty, but when she’s amongst other groups, that’s when she has venom. GiaNina and Sarah go head-to-head for their shot at dancing a solo at nationals while the team performs a group routine unlike anything done before. But what causes chaos is when Michelle comes to blows with the other moms and a confrontation at the competition sends Abby over the edge. Abby talks nasty to the others and even tries to run them down with her wheelchair as she goes past them.
13. “Broadway Brat” Season 8, Episode 3
If you’ve been watching the show long enough, you know that anything against Abby means an all-out war. What she says is what will happen, and she won’t let anyone, not even the mom, get in her way. So when Abby deals with a complaint on her team, all hell breaks loose. This episode follows Abby challenging the team with her most serious group dance yet and casts Lilliana as the lead for the first time in her ALDC career. However, when GiaNina complains about her choreography, Abby unleashes her wrath on the Broadway veteran. It doesn’t help that the other moms are ready to throw her and her mother under the bus, but that’s the beauty of this wonderful reality TV show.

12. “No Clowning Around” Season 7, Episode 6
It’s not just Abby who can attack at will. The moms are ruthless. They’ve earned their spot and will defend their kid to the death, but sometimes they can go too far, or it can be overwhelming. When new moms come into the picture, however, drama stirs. With nationals only six weeks away, a constantly changing team has the moms a bit worried. Nia gets her first solo in a year and Abby gives two of her new dancers a chance to shine on stage. Meanwhile, the veteran moms go on the attack after one of the new moms puts down their kids.

11. “Tell All: Part 2” Season 3, Episode 21
Tell All has the Dance Moms‘ executive producer Jeff Collins sat down with Abby Lee Miller and the moms to rehash season 3. This week’s dramatic conclusion finds New Dance Mom Kristie Ray quick to defend Abby and former Dance Mom Jackie and her daughter Sophia managed to rub Melissa the wrong way. The IMDb synopsis goes into detail on how dramatic these past two episodes are, but the second part is by far the winner of the winner of one of the best Dance Moms episodes in the franchise.

10. “City of Angels” Season 5, Episode 33
Coming off a major loss at nationals, it’s time for Abby and the Dance Moms to hash out what went wrong. Between live performances from the ALDC, Abby, and Moms dish out their true feelings about the competitions and some of the season’s most shocking moments. The moms are also divided on hot-button issues like Nia’s music career, Kira’s meltdown, and Melissa’s favoritism, as well as Abby’s out-of-control personality and lack of commitment. And as always, the moms are in store for a bombshell Abby is about to drop.

9. “How Do You Like Them Apples?” Season 2, Episode 20
When Abby and the girls go up against Cathy and her Candy Apples, they’re out for revenge. To beat Abby, Cathy hires two professional choreographers to help with the week’s dances and since Cathy uses older girls in her group dances, Abby brings in three older girls to dance in a group dance to level out the playing field. meanwhile, Paige finally gets to perform her “Tongue Twister” solo, but Kelly thinks that the level isn’t hard enough and secretly re-choreographs the dance. In addition to this, Jill worries that Cathy has lost interest in Kendall and begins to regret her decision to transfer Kendall to the Candy Apples. All to say, a lot is going on, which means there’s a lot of drama and tension, making it one of the best Dance Moms episodes.

8. “Abbygeddon” Season 2, Episode 13
The midseason finale of Dance Moms is one to watch if you’re looking for intense drama. The girls head to New York to audition for the Joffrey Ballet School in hopes of winning scholarships, as well as a competition while they stay. Unfortunately for them, Cathy and her Candy Apples are also attending, creating some intense drama. When the Candy Apples beat them in the group category, things start falling apart. Maddie forgets her dance on stage and cries, leading to Abby having a breakdown. When the moms confront Abby about her favoritism with Maddie, Abby leaves without the moms, making for a memorable show.

7. “Abby Strikes Back” Season 4, Episode 13
Everyone is on edge when Abby announces she’ll be holding her first national open audition in Orlando. Meanwhile, the fallout over Chloe and Kendall’s solos in the last competition continues as Jill accuses Christi of lying to help Chloe win. Brooke, Paige, and Chloe are given a tricky trio to challenge Brooke’s pop star credentials, pressuring her to dance and sing. All in all, with so much chaos, this is one of the best Dance Moms episodes.

6. “Choose Wisely” Season 8, Episode 4
Abby announces that she’s sending someone home, which causes a frantic competition between the girls. Abby loves the drama, and having the girls fight for their place on the team is exactly what she’s looking for. All while Stacey and Tricia go to war over Brady. And when tasked with picking their duet partners, the young dancers fear that the wrong decision could send them home.

5. “The Mother of All Specials” Season 3, Episode 19
With a title like that, you might have guessed that this is the Mother’s Day Special, in which Abby sits down and talks with her mother, Maryen Lorrain Miller. While you might not think this has a lot of drama, when they start showing clips from previous episodes showing off the mother-daughter relationships, you can start to see that it’s far from the truth. With so much drama going on throughout the series, of course, there are going to be flashbacks of some of the best drama between the girls and moms.

4. “New Kid on the Block” Season 7, Episode 5
Everyone claws to get ahold of the coveted spot on the team, so when Abby brings in a new dancer with an eccentric mother, the moms are already starting to show their true colors. Abby encourages Brynn to lead Kalani and Kendall in their trio. All the while the mothers are nervous when Abby assigns the first hip-hop routine since the elites walked out.

The arrival of a new dance mom and her daughter creates a huge stir among the girls and the Dance Moms. With her broken foot healed, Paige gets the go-ahead from the doctor to dance in this week’s important competition.

2. “Chloe vs. Kendall: Round 2” Season 4, Episode 4
