There are cable and satellite subscriptions with compelling add-ons, but sports fans can easily get their fix every week with great games via streaming.
The NFL season is all but over, but Super Bowl Sunday is approaching — and it’s available for streaming! There’s still plenty to cover between the NBA and NHL action, too.
For those who primarily use traditional cable deals for sports consumption, cord-cutting is definitely the way to go. Check out our list of best streaming services for sports fans, and read on for more on this week’s best games.
NBA on TNT (via YouTube TV/Hulu + Live TV) & ESPN+
Here’s a recommendation: go for YouTube TV or Hulu + Live TV if you’re a sports fan who uses cable subscription for little else. It has the best options overall and is a fraction of the cost of a provider contract.
This way, you can still get TNT and its best NBA games. For this week, both ESPN (stream on ESPN+) and TNT have a ton of action to compensate for the lack of gridiron goodness.
In the first game of Tuesday‘s TNT double header, the Los Angeles Clippers take on the Philadelphia 76ers (7:30 p.m. ET). Philly had been reeling of late, but have back-to-back wins after losing four straight.
The Houston Rockets host the Boston Celtics in the second leg of Tuesday’s TNT Action (10 p.m.). Houston lost a tough buzzer-beater to Utah in its last contest, while Boston enters on a seven-game winning streak.
Wednesday’s ESPN double feature is as follows: Milwaukee-Indiana (7:30 p.m.), then Los Angeles Lakers-Denver (10 p.m.). TNT only has one contest Thursday due to the impending All-Star break, with the Clippers paying a visit to the Celtics.

NHL on ESPN+
There’s a whopping 51 games on ESPN+ from the NHL despite the shorter month, and it’s at a better bargain than ever. Disney has created a bundle with ESPN+, its new streaming platform Disney+ and Hulu for only $12.99 per month.
ESPN+ itself is only $4.99 per month, yet with those other services bundled in, it’s great. And hey, if you’re a hockey fan, all the better for it then!
One of the week’s most high-powered matchups is Tuesday’s 7 p.m. ET face-off between the Carolina Hurricanes and Dallas Stars. The latter are hosting, and enter the week third in the West. Carolina, meanwhile, is fighting to stay in the East’s playoff picture.
The puck drops Thursday at 9 p.m. for the Washington Capitals and home Colorado Avalanche. Washington is second in the East to begin the week, while the Avs are second in the West. They’re two of the three highest-scoring teams in the NHL, so this should be a high-scoring thriller.
