Lindsay Lohan is most famous for her portrayal of Cady Heron in Mean Girls but also appeared in films like Parent Trap, Freaky Friday, and Life Size. More than a decade ago though, she decided to leave the Hollywood spotlight and acting, leaving us to wonder: where is Lindsay Lohan now?

Where is Lindsay Lohan Living?
When Lohan first left Hollywood, she moved to London and lived there for a brief time before heading on to Dubai. She currently lives there now with her family. There are a few reasons why Lohan loves Dubai so much. The first is meeting the love of her life, Shammas, but she has also found comfort in the city. She told W Magazine in February 2018 “There’s a certain calmness that I find there. There’s no paparazzi, no cameras; that’s a big deal for me.”
Lindsay Lohan’s Family
Lohan found solace in Dubai, but she found love too. The Hollywood star met her husband Bader Shammas in 2018, dating for three years before Lohan announced their engagement on November 28, 2021. The two wed on April 3, 2022, which was confirmed when Lohan posted an Instagram birthday post calling Shammas her “husband.”
The newest addition to their family is Luai, their son and first child, born in July 2023. Lohan has embraced becoming a mother and all of the tribulations, including her postpartum body. She even showed off her postpartum body on social media, to help normalize the changes the female body goes through when giving birth.

Reasons for Leaving Hollywood
Lohan’s departure from Hollywood was for a few reasons, but her departure allowed for a much-needed change in her life. “I feel like some of [my work] got overshadowed by paparazzi and all that kind of stuff when I was younger, and that’s kind of annoying,” she told Bustle in an interview in March 2024. “I wish that part didn’t happen.”
She even told Bustle, “I feel like that kind of took on a life of its own. So that’s why I wanted to disappear. I was like, ‘Unless there’s no story here, they’re not going to focus on just my work.'” Several actors and actresses have felt the pressure from paparazzi and fans, so it’s no surprise that after a while they need a break from it all.
Lindsay Lohan Returns to the Big Screen
Even though Lindsay Lohan has been away from the big screen for a decade, the 37-year-old has made her return to Hollywood these last couple of years. Lohan made a cameo appearance in the 2023 musical remake of Mean Girls and also signed a two-movie deal with Netflix, beginning with 2022’s Falling for Christmas and 2024’s Irish Wish.
As she delves back into the acting world, Lohan has another factor to consider: her son Luai. She told E! News “I want to do things that my son can see. But I also want to do things that inspire me.” It will be a learning process, but Lohan will probably appear in several more films going forward.
Taking a break from Hollywood is something that Lindsay Lohan had to do in order to get her life back. After a decade away from the spotlight, she has returned stronger than ever in new roles and with a family to support her. We cannot wait to see what other films she appears in, and whether or not her family will grow too.
