The Devil Wears Prada is a 2006 hit film starring the one and only Meryl Streep as a harsh and terrifying editor in chief at a fashion magazine, and her two devoted assistants, Anne Hathaway and Emily Blunt.

Based on Lauren Weisberger’s bestselling book of the same name, the book fictionalizes her experience as Vogue editor in chief Anna Wintour’s assistant. The film follows Anne Hathaway’s character, Andy Sachs, and her entrance into the fashion-publishing world.

The Devil Wears Prada earned over $326 million worldwide, along with earning two Oscar nominations. The film also inspired a stage musical starring Vanessa Williams, currently running on the West End.

What will the sequel be about? Lovers of the film, including Anne Hathaway herself, have expressed concerns about the sequel as magazine publishing has been completely altered during the rise of the digital world since the release of the first movie.
However, instead of trying to go against this change, the film will follow Miranda Priestly, Meryl Streep’s character, as she deals with the changing and decline of traditional magazine publishing.
