One of the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s most underrated films, Ant-Man and the Wasp, will eventually migrate from Netflix to Disney+, which launches on November 12. But when exactly is the film’s release date on Disney+?
While Marvel fans will be able to enjoy this title on Netflix for a while longer, its Disney+ release date is slated for July 29th, 2020.
When Ant-Man and the Wasp first arrived on Netflix on January 29 of this year, the streaming giant had exclusive rights to it for a period of 18 months. July 29th, 2020, marks the end of that time frame.
A small-scale story with a big heart
The exceptional effects and imagination it takes to create a compelling film based around a man the size of an ant and a woman the size of a wasp are impressive enough. But there’s a strong human element to this story. The thematic substance largely ties to the families of the main characters. There’s even an empathetic villain complicating matters.
Here’s a brief synopsis of Ant-Man and The Wasp from Walt Disney Studios:
In the aftermath of Captain America: Civil War, Scott Lang grapples with the consequences of his choices as both a Super Hero and a father. As he struggles to rebalance his home life with his responsibilities as Ant-Man, he’s confronted by Hope van Dyne and Dr. Hank Pym with an urgent new mission. Scott must once again put on the suit and learn to fight alongside The Wasp as the team works together to uncover secrets from the past.
Disney
Not only does this movie work as a moving, self-contained story, but the mind-bending plot line also helped set the stage for the epic finale of Avengers: Endgame.
4K/HDR/Dolby Atmos
The Mouse House is bringing out all the bells, whistles and stunning visuals, which means Ant-Man and the Wasp will be presented on Disney+ in 4K, HDR, and Dolby Atmos.
You won’t have to pay extra for higher quality, either. The $6.99 monthly price tag of Disney+ will offer the best possible presentation of Ant-Man and the Wasp in terms of video and audio quality.
