Sandler plays Danny, a plastic surgeon who takes one lie too far, creating a web of lies guaranteed to make you laugh. On a weekend trip to Hawaii, Danny convinces his assistant Katherine (Jennifer Aniston) to pose as his soon-to-be-divorced wife to cover up a lie he told his much younger girlfriend. As Danny tries to keep the woman he loves, one lie soon turns into many. Will he be able to keep his dream girl Palmer in the end?
3. How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days (2003)
While Benjamin and Andie may not be getting fake married, they do have ulterior motives while dating each other that will remind you of Margaret and Andrew’s relationship. How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days is our third selection for movies like The Proposal, and worth the watch. Benjamin is an advertising executive who cuts a deal with his co-workers he can make a woman of their choice fall in love with him in ten days. Andie is writing a story about how you can lose a guy in ten days for a bet with her boss. As the two get paired together for a date, who will end up winning their respective bets: Benjamin, or Andie?

2. Red, White & Royal Blue (2023)
The newest film on our list is Red, White & Royal Blue, earning the second spot for movies like The Proposal. Alex and Henry start as bitter rivals posing as friends, eventually learning there’s something more between them, just like Margaret and Andrew. Alex is the First Son of the President of the United States, while Henry is one of the princes of England. After causing a major incident at Henry’s brother’s wedding, the two must act like friends in public to smooth over relations between the two countries. But when their friendship blooms into something more, they must try to keep their relationship secret while being in the public eye.

1. Definitely, Maybe (2008)
Our number one selection for movies like The Proposal is Definitely, Maybe starring Ryan Reynolds again. Reynolds plays Will Hayes, a thirty-something Manhattan native in the middle of a divorce. One night, his young daughter asks him about Will’s life before marriage and how he met her mother. Will takes her on a journey through his past, recounting three different romances, and changing their names so his daughter can guess which one became his wife. Though there is not as much enemies to lovers in the film, the flashbacks and comedic romance is perfect for fans of The Proposal, especially if you want more Ryan Reynolds.
