5. Dead Men Tell No Tales (2017)
Fifth on our list of all the Pirates of the Caribbean movies ranked is the last film, Dead Men Tell No Tales. The film was an okay ending to the franchise, with many viewers thinking it lasted longer than it should have. For Sparrow’s last adventure, he finds the winds of ill-fortune blowing his way when ghost pirates led by his nemesis Captain Salazar escape from the Devil’s Triangle. Set on killing every pirate at sea, Jack’s only hope is finding the Trident of Poseidon that bestows total control over the seas.

4. On Stranger Tides (2011)
Coming in fourth on our Pirates of the Caribbean movies ranked list is On Stranger Tides, the first film without Orlando Bloom and Keira Knightley. Jack Sparrow and Barbossa are on a quest to find the fountain of youth but encounter pirates from Jack’s past that may foil their plans. Angelica was once Sparrow’s lover but now may be using him to find the Fountain of Youth. When she forces him aboard the Queen Anne’s Revenge captained by Blackbeard, Jack isn’t sure who to fear more. Viewers missed Bloom and Knightley, and the film didn’t quite fit in as much with the first three.

3. At World’s End (2007)
Dive into the world of the unknown in our third selection for Pirates of the Caribbean movies ranked At World’s End. The crew of the Black Pearl, alongside Will Turner, Elizabeth Swann, and Hector Barbossa, set off to find and rescue Jack Sparrow from Davy Jones’ locker. Along the way, they join forces with other pirates to battle Lord Cutler Beckett and Davy Jones, who Beckett has control over. Fans enjoyed the action of the film, but between the immense amount of characters and run time, it did fall short compared to other films in the series.

2. Dead Man’s Chest (2006)
Jumping into the top two Pirates of the Caribbean movies ranked is Dead Man’s Chest. Plunged deep into the world of pirates, Jack Sparrow is reminded he owes a debt to Davy Jones, captain of the Flying Dutchman with a crew from hell. To save himself, Sparrow must find the heart of Davy Jones with the help of Will Turner and Elizabeth Swann, who also must retrieve Jack’s compass to save themselves from hanging. Between the music and the characters battling on open oceans, this film is a thrill-ride to say the least.

1. Curse of the Black Pearl (2003)
Last but certainly not least on the Pirates of the Caribbean movies ranked list is the original film, The Curse of the Black Pearl. Blacksmith Will Turner must team up with the savvy pirate Jack Sparrow to search for and save Elizabeth Swann. Swann is the daughter of the governor and the love of Will’s life and has been captured by Captain Barbossa. The fearsome captain of the Black Pearl has been cursed alongside his crew, doomed neither to live nor die unless a blood sacrifice is made. Fast-paced action and sprawling views entertain viewers for the full 2 hours and 20 minutes of run time, launching one of the most popular movie franchises in recent years.
