Disney+ has released Frozen 2 early, moving it from its scheduled June 26th launch date. All territories where Disney+ is available can now stream the animated blockbuster.
Disney has said this is a move to help people get through isolation. Kudos to Disney for trying, but with people stuck in isolation for potentially weeks, could the streaming giant stream more movies early to keep families occupied? These are our top 10 picks — if licensing wasn’t an issue.

#10. George of the Jungle
Despite it being a cliche mess of a kid’s movie, complete with talking ape and a ridiculous plot. George of the Jungle is the perfect movie for early release after Frozen 2 because it’s guaranteed to keep youngsters entertained. The movie is currently scheduled to release on Disney+ on May 1st, 2020.
#9. The Mighty Ducks
There might be a TV series in the making. It even has the original movie creators and Emilio Estevez involved but the magic of The Mighty Ducks cannot be recaptured. If you love hockey and want a nostalgia fix, this is the movie you want to early release. It’s currently scheduled to hit Disney+ on July 1st, 2020.

#8. Incredibles 2
Releasing Incredibles 2 early makes a lot of sense. What’s better than one movie to keep kids entertained? Two movies. With an early release, parents can put on a double-header of incredible superhero fun for their kids.
As a movie, it’s not as good as the original but because it’s from Pixar, it’s still great family-friendly entertainment. If Disney doesn’t move this sequel forward, we’ll be waiting until July 30th, 2020 to watch.
#7. Ralph Breaks the Internet
Like with Incredibles 2, not being able to watch Ralph Breaks the Internet until December 11th, 2020 is disappointing. We understand that Disney has licenses with cable and other streaming platforms but as the official home of Pixar, Disney+ needs to have all of its movies.

#6. Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time
It’s probably a surprise to many that this movie makes a top-10 of anything. However, it’s much better than many give it credit for. It has spectacular action sequences and top-quality performances from Jake Gyllenhaal (Nightcrawler) and Ben Kingsley (Sexy Beast). Plus, it’s one of the best game-to-movie adaptations ever made. Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time is heading to Disney+ August 5th, 2020.
#5. National Treasure
It’s hard to believe that National Treasure was made in 2004. It’s a conspiracy treasure hunt movie that is entertaining, family-friendly, and still worth watching. The movie remains one of Nicolas Cage’s better efforts in the last 20 years. If you haven’t seen it you’ll have to wait until April 30th, 2020 to watch. Unless Disney releases early, like with Frozen 2.
#4. John Carter
This movie was surprisingly trashed at release but shouldn’t have been. It’s a good sci-fi fantasy. If you’re a fan of anything Marvel then John Carter has similar amazing effects, a superhero-esque storyline, better than average acting, and intriguing ideas. Ignore the reviews and check it out for yourself. John Carter is currently scheduled for release on Disney+ May 2nd, 2020.

#3 The Sorceror’s Apprentice
If you only watch one Nicolas Cage movie on this list, then it should be The Sorceror’s Apprentice. It’s a fantastic fantasy, full of magic and battles between good and evil wizards. For anyone needing to entertain the family, this is a movie that’ll put bums on seats. The Sorcerer’s Apprentice is scheduled to release on October 30th, 2020.
#2. Solo: A Star Wars Story
Solo: A Star Wars Story is far better than anything from the newest trilogy, or the prequels made by George Lucas. Young Han Solo, played by Alden Ehrenreich was energetic and charismatic. Complete with the backstory behind how the Millennium Falcon is acquired, how Chewbacca is met, and even love story which shapes Han Solo forever. Solo: A Star Wars Story is scheduled for release on Disney+ July 9th, 2020.
#1. Star Wars Episode 9: The Rise of Skywalker
Episode 9 is not the best movie on this list but the one I expect and want to see early on Disney+. It would be fantastic optics for the streaming giant, giving one of their big IP’s to their subscribers early. Plus, it could coincide with the launch of the streaming service in the UK. It’s undoubtedly the best encouragement for people to subscribe, or resubscribe to the service.
Star Wars Episode 9: The Rise of Skywalker doesn’t have a release date on Disney+ currently but we predict it’ll launch October 2020. Unless Disney releases early as they have with Frozen 2.
